You’re breathing
The wind is blowing
The trees are waving
Your nerves are tingling
The individual and the universe
Are inseparable
But the curious thing is
Very few people are aware of it
Everything in nature
Depends on everything else
So it’s interconnected
We confuse ourselves as living organisms which are one with this whole universe
With something we call our personality
And what is our personality?
And our fundamental self is not something just inside the skin
It’s everything around us with which we connect
When you look out of your eyes
At nature happening out there
You’re looking at you
That’s the real you-
The you that goes on of itself
Now listen
It’s absolutely necessary
That we let go of ourselves- and it can’t be done,
Not by anything that we call doing it, acting, willing,
Or even just accepting things
It seems that the human being
Really has a very simple kind of mind
Nature is wiggly
Everything wiggles
And all this wiggliness is too complicated

and THANK YOU to janice sandeen for unearthing this beauty and sharing her genius w the world…!
the natural space— photography show in ketchum, idaho from the natural space on Vimeo.
MUSIC: reprise, this land of eldorado, a man called sun
a jaunt along where the continental plate nudges (or leans heavily into or pushes down deep? and lifts towards the sky?) the pacific plate where flirty inverness(‘inwardness’) and wayward bolinas sing along the revealed horizon.
the natural space was inspired here…
a black and white photograph of this exact view originally represented “the natural space”
encouraging, nudging the world towards love and nature…
and as i was videoing this outrageously gorgeous moment i found myself
overwhelmed by the beauty, and fell back into love…
befriend the mystery.

i designed our (reclaimed fabric) stretchy-denim halter-tunic, the latest download from the natural space… this is only a peek… i am wearing it as a bikini cover-up here… i think the halter tunic has great potential HOWEVER….and will look very HOT— with black, white, dark euro-navy leggings or denim-like leggings!?? steve sewed the prototype for me and added his own creative expression in the form of edging on the halter top…it will be “fraying” at the edges a bit…wondering if this is a good idea? our collaboration is interesting as always…and i am checking out the wear and tear and washability… it may infact be ingenius…and trendy??
…going with the flow and being pleasantly surprised, maintaining curiosity…and LOVE.
i am very excited about this top. it is extremely comfortable with same stretchy denim built-in bra/shelf. you will feel free! —and feel good about your creative and upcycled wardrobe!

japan needs our love. this beautiful graphic designer drew this. i am grateful for her creativity—LOVE… thank you delphine!!! http://www.delphineperrot.com
‘I reacted very quickly to this event as I was in the Pacific and we got a red alert early in the morning.
When I got back home, I came up with the idea and drew this sign spontaneously.
Then I started to spread it to friends via internet and crossed my fingers this universal sign for love and support for Japan would find its way. It was like putting a bottle in the sea.
A big thank you to Claire Boyles, who played a key role by putting me in touch with Darren Leighfield.
I am very happy to have offered my picture to this emergency situation’.

my current bedroom/studio in west marin with my photos adorning the walls… for this photo shoot i was playing with groups of photos…i love them in groups. and they change groups. these two photos were taken on a beach on the big island of hawaii, barely a crescent moon of sand— surrounded, nearly enveloped by these wild elongated trees and huge branches. (big island spirits: left photo: beach hwy pole 69.1, right photo: beach hwy. pole 69.2)(the hawaiian tree spirits are very present in both of these photographs and you can actually see them on the large prints!
LARGE PRINTS (of many of my photographs— which i will continue to post on this blog over the next few posts) ARE FOR SALE NOW (27×35): prices range from: $300-600. smaller sizes and custom prints available. please email info@thenaturalspace.com to order now. i feel these photographs of nature heal people and spaces. yes. you may deepen your connection to nature through these images. these gorgeous white velvet, watercolor paper prints will fill any space with love! they also ground a room with their earthy nature. how rare it can be to feel comfortable and near the earth— inside a space.
AMY GOODMAN: What is the effect of climate disruption on cultures?
VANDANA SHIVA: The most important disruption of climate havoc on cultures is fear. Peaceful communities start becoming scared. For example, this year, as the monsoon failed in India, and its failure was much more extreme than normal droughts, farmers have waited to get a crop, and they haven’t got a crop. They become afraid.
Beyond a point, as the water disappears, because your groundwater hasn’t being recharged, your rivers and streams haven’t been recharged, beyond a point, conflicts emerge in local communities, which is why the G-77 constantly refers to Darfur as linked to climate change with the disappearance of water from Lake Chad.
AMY GOODMAN: Explain.
VANDANA SHIVA: As the rainfall has failed in the sub-Saharan Africa, Lake Chad has shrunk. The communities that used to be supported in a very generous way by that lake are having less and less water. Pastoralists and settled agriculturalists have come in conflict. It so happens they belong to different religion. This has been presented as a religious conflict. It’s really a conflict that emerges from climate change and climate change degradation of already degraded environments.

mystery — (part two)
the iphone camera relationship allows mystery— this is especially wonderful…you never ever know who will show up as you wander through nature…usually it will be exactly who you really need to be there with you at the time for a lovely healing you never expected or even thought you needed…and lots of times i don’t even see who was really there until i get home to my laptop and download my new friends…and finally SEE, oh it was YOU!!!
soo much gratitude tends to flow in in these moments, flowing creativity, connection, love!
